I just came back from volleyball practice. Either I'm still recovering from my sickness so I'm kinda sucky, or I actually have like TONS AND TONS to work on. Maybe it's both. Whatever it is, I SUCK. Oh my goodness not even funny. I can't dig OR hit, and it's on a lower net too. What is wrong with me?!?!
On a brighter note... there's no school on Friday! And barely any classes next week because of midterm exams. Too bad I don't have any friends to hang out with during all that spare time. I guess I'll study :)

Look What You've Done
Sorry for not making any posts lately... I haven't been feeling up to it. It's been a really busy week with tests to study for, projects due, and homework to catch up on since I've missed quite a few classes from staying home sick. Right... did I mention that with my luck I have somehow acquired pneumonia? I've had fevers up to 105º since Monday, and coughing up a storm (and blood). But anyways, I'm on antibiotics now and will be for 7-10 days. Then back to the doctor's office and she'll tell me where to go from there. So I should be fine. :) Meanwhile, I am eating a delicious unhealthy dinner of chicken pot pie. I just checked the nutrition label and it has about 38 grams of fat and 1100 mg of salt in each serving..... Oh God.

When Did Your Heart Go Missing
Volleyball went alright last night - I wasn't as rusty as I thought I'd be, but there is still a lot I need to work on. So for Apex they play in a different rotation... instead of playing 6-2 like I've done since grade 9, we're now playing a new rotation where the leftside hitter/power (me) is playing 6 back (not sure what the term for this is). So everyone who's actually seen me play volleyball knows that reading shoulders and digging aren't exactly my strengths on the court. Hopefully I'll improve during the season... Oh. And supposedly my team might not go to Vegas anymore, because of financial reasons. Oh well.
Went snowboarding for the first time on Whistler/Blackcomb today. Me and Anthony (who is a second time snowboarder) tried to get away with being in the Novice group, and the first thing our instructor had us do was to board down the bunny hill. And I had no idea how to do anything, and wiped out at least 20 times on the hill. You have no idea how bad my knees and my ass hurt right now. Anyways, after that horrible run down the hill I asked to be put in Beginners, which was a lot more fun since I wasn't wiping out the whole time, only half the time. Then I learned how to do the sideslip thing, but better on heelside than toeside. I can't wait to go again :) Feb 8th!
Also today my dad also finally got the new 55 inch TV he ordered on Boxing Day to go with his new sound system. It's practically bigger than me...

For The Longest Time
Ugh... school's been keeping me busy. Tons of homework and projects due already. And my brain appears to be on winter break still, so everything I'm learning seems so much harder to understand. Or maybe it's just me.
Anyways... things have been alright lately. I can't complain. Volleyball starts tomorrow, finally. I haven't played in too long. Then snowboarding on Saturday, 5:00 AM wake-up. Hopefully it's as easy to catch on as skiing. I'm excited and scared at the same time.
Gah. I have nothing left to say.

Hard To Explain
First day back at school today. I woke up feeling really sad when I realized I had six hours of it ahead of me. I had Socials in the morning with Traf, and there were only about 10 of us in class for the first half hour of class. Stupid snow. Then I had Chem and we took some notes on molarity, which isn't too difficult to understand. After that we did review on moles. I fell asleep. Mentorship was dull as always, thank God he wasn't there. Talk about clingy. I really don't mesh well with persistent guys. In French we wrote an essay about our winter break. I guess it wasn't that bad for the first day of school. Although I'd much rather have been at home sleeping.
Anyways, so I just finished watching Twilight. The plot moved way too fast, which is understandable, since fitting a 600 page novel into 2 hours of film is hard enough as it is. The novel was a lot more detailed - I feel like I wouldn't have really understood the story if I haven't read the novel. Also, I have to admit, in spite of my previous opinion of how gay he looks, Robert Pattinson (Edward) is actually pretty good-looking. Maybe not in pictures, but in the movie and in stillshots.... whew. Kristen Stewart (Bella), I must say, is a bit too pretty for what I imagined Bella would look like. And Jacob wasn't hot at all. Abby you're crazy. Plus he has long hair. Their acting was horrible. Definitely not worth your 12 bucks to see in theatres.
I leave you with this:
"Hey, Anthony! It smells like updog in here."
"What?"
"It smells like updog."
"What the hell's up dog?"
"Not much."
I just thought I'd give you a shout since you definitely made my day. Thanks.

I've Always Thought Of You
Ugh... when is it going to stop snowing?? I thought we were done after that big one last week but NO, I woke up this morning to find the world a winter wonderland once again. And school on Monday too. Actually maybe that wouldn't be such a bad thing, since all I've been doing is staying home and eating. First volleyball practice on Friday and snowboarding on Saturday to look forward to, though.
Anyways. This morning I woke up at 10:30 to the pleasant guitar riffs of my dad's new sound system. What a discreet attempt to get me waking up earlier. Then I went out for lunch with my family at a dim sum restaurant across from Dolphin Theatres. Came home around 2... learned how to play Bubbly by Colbie Caillat. I didn't realize how difficult it was to sing and play guitar at the same time. The song is easy to sing, and the chords are easy to play, but when you put the two together... Oh well, practice makes perfect. At least I can say I learned how to play the guitar when people ask what I did all break.
Headed out for shopping at Metro around 5:30 with Kim, Steph, Fi, and Natasha and then dinner with the rest of the team. We walked into a few shops, then found out none of us had money or were willing to spend it. So we went and chilled in the food court for the next 2 hours. Dinner was at Taisho Japanese Restaurant, and after a heated discussion with the bitchy waitress we convinced her to give us the 8:30 all you can eat special. But then we found out that because of the shitty weather, they were closing at 9:30 and the last orders would be at 9. So, like the hungry and greedy teenagers that we are, we panicked and ordered as much as we could. Much, much more than we could have eaten. And then, like the stupid and sneaky teenagers that we are, we hid the extra food in our purses and went and dumped it in the bathroom.
Also found out that I'm heading to Las Vegas with the team in July for a 5 day tournament! YAY :)

Happy New Year
'08 was definitely not one of the best years of my life... I am so glad it's over. But 2009? I don't know if I'm really that excited for it. Who knows what what I have in store.
NYE was alright... okay, it was pretty bunk. It didn't feel like NYE at all - I wish everyone could have celebrated it together, but after the dinner at Red Robin, we all just split into two different groups. Then we went back to Keith's house, and divided into another 3 groups. So I ended up going home out of boredom at like, 10:45. So much for partying like a rockstar. Not that it's really my scene anyway.
I have a New Years dinner to go to tonight at my cousin's house in Maple Ridge. Woop-dee-do.
Happy New Year, everyone.
